Msichana means girl in Swahili and this rug is named in reference to beginnings - the early stages of craft, learning and making - with the figure symbolising growth and creative emergence. The Msichana rug is made from handwoven recycled cotton denim. Each piece is meticulously woven, forming a unique combination of circularity, history, culture and design.

Designed to be versatile, it can be displayed as wall art or used as a statement piece within the home.

Made by female artisans in Eastern Kenya, the rug gives materials a second life while supporting skilled craftsmanship and sustainable livelihoods.
