Tamu Bucket Bag

Tamu means sweet in Swahili. It references the material used to make the bag - sweet wrappers. This bag is hand-made by talented female artisans in Makueni, Eastern Kenya. It is created by weaving together plastic sweet wrappers. It also features a 100% organic hand woven cotton handle.

Because of the material it is made from the bag strong and durable. As a bucket bag it can be used as an everyday bag, for a trip to the beach or even in your home as a storage basket. The bag is roomy and can carry plenty of items. Due its material it can easily be wiped clean.

This bag gives materials a second life while supporting skilled craftsmanship and sustainable livelihoods.
