Tamu Bag

Tamu means sweet in Swahili. It references the material used to make this bag - sweet wrappers. The bag was made by talented female artisans in Makueni, Eastern Kenya. It has been created from hand woven recycled plastic sweet wrappers. It also features a 100% organic cotton handle.

Because of the material it is made from the bag is strong and durable. As an oversized tote bag it can be used for a trip to the beach, a trip to the farmers market or a picnic in the park. This bag is roomy and can carry plenty of items. Due to its material you can easily wipe it clean.

This bag gives materials a second life while supporting skilled craftsmanship and sustainable livelihoods.
